There’s a world of fun-fuelled action and excitement just waiting to be discovered at Haynes International Motor Museum.
Younger visitors will be able to test their driving skills at the awesome new Haynes Motorland outdoor activity centre.
Haynes Motorland adventure playground covers 1,500 square metres within a new pedestrian precinct and is packed with a myriad of motoring-themed interactive games and miniature vehicles for children to enjoy.
Kids will have fun exploring the many realistic adventure play vehicles including a jeep, ice cream van and a camper van. The construction zone has a host of impressive looking, large scale adventure play JCB diggers in a giant sand pit, with the coin operated Super diggers where you can operate an actual digger bucket. There is a play petrol station, garage and realistic road layout where there’s a world of high octane fun for youngsters to discover.
Children can challenge themselves on the brand new ‘Haynes Hatch’ go-kart race circuit with its coin-operated electric vehicles, as well as two classic double-decker buses; one featuring a cinema and the other a soft play area for younger visitors.
Other new attractions within the museum itself include the ‘Vroom Room’ – a must-see attraction for petrol-heads. Spanning over 360 square metres, and accommodating up to 20 cars at any one time, it is dedicated to the very best in high powered, high performance sports cars through the ages.
Among the vehicles currently on display are an iconic 1981 Lamborghini Countach 400s, a 1995 Jaguar XJ220 and a 1973 Porsche 911 RS Carrera.
The Motorcycle Mezzanine is a fascinating new home for the museum’s two-wheeled collection of around 70 motorbikes including motorcycles from around the world and the Forshaw Speedway Collection, the world’s largest and most complete speedway display.
Created with its very own banked track and filled with precious artefacts and information it brings the thrilling sights and sounds of speedway through the ages vividly to life.
Packed with precious metal, Haynes International Motor Museum is the UK’s largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world. More than 400 amazing cars and bikes from the earliest motoring pioneers to nostalgic classics of the 50s and 60s and glorious Bentleys and Rolls Royces to exciting super cars like the Jaguar XJ220.

The prestigious Haynes International Motor Museum, at Sparkford in Somerset offers an excellent day out for everyone. With more than 400 cars and bikes displayed in stunning style, dating from 1885 to the present day, it is the largest international motor museum in Britain.
For those interested in a nostalgic trip down memory lane, the museum offers a host of familiar names such as Austin, MG, and Morris. Whilst for those seeking something more exotic there is a vast array of performance cars, from modern classics such as the Dodge Viper and XJ220, to the more historic Jaguar E Type and AC Cobra.
Also on show is a large collection of American cars, including the jewels in the crown of Haynes – the V16 Cadillac, and the multi-million-dollar Duesenberg. For children there is the, Ghostbusters ambulance, the themed play area, the fabulous play-bus, and many other activities.
Groups over 15 people can get discounted entry into the museum and free tours, which are available throughout the year. The tours are tailored to suit individual needs from die hard motoring enthusiasts to those you want something a little more light hearted.

With three rooms, the largest holding a maximum capacity of 450 delegates, the museum also boasts the latest AV equipment, first class in-house catering, 55 acres of outdoor event sites and show fields, as well as it’s very own private motor test circuit.

The Merlin Suite is the Museum’s most impressive function room and provides the perfect venue for wedding receptions.
The Merlin Suite is served by its own entrance directly from the Museum’s stunning Red Room. The Suite comprises of two adjoining rooms that provide flexibility and versatility throughout your reception, they also have their own private lobby with cloakroom and restroom facilities. Merlin 1, the larger room, has wall lighting that can change colour to create the right atmosphere and ambience for your celebrations.
The Merlin Suite is ideal for wedding parties ranging from 40 to 250 guests. The generous space ensures that your guests can remain comfortable throughout the reception, and no tables need to be cleared for the evening’s entertainment. The dance floor and bar are fully portable, and can be positioned according to your requirements.

Truly exceptional experience
The Haynes International Motor Museum is licensed for civil ceremonies. The ceremony area has its own special atmosphere and provides a truly exceptional experience, not only for bride and groom, but also for wedding guests.
The American Collection houses the Museum’s most valuable car – the 1931 Model J Duesenberg, which provides the backdrop for civil wedding ceremonies. Bride and groom are flanked by the Museum’s two most opulent cars during the service. The Fins, Wings and Chrome Hall can seat up to 100 guests and offers an inspiring start to married life.
Drinks and canapés can be served after the ceremony within the Museum; allowing guests an opportunity to browse and enjoy the Museum’s amazing collection of cars and motorcycles.
All civil ceremonies include entry to the Museum for the wedding guests, a table flower arrangement and music facilities for the ceremony.
